Over the last week, the Fish and Wildlife class got to construct ice fishing poles. They had to find the spine of the rod, construct the handle, and thread on the guides. The students are very excited to get out on the water and give them a try.

Since most kindergartners aren’t able to stay up until midnight to welcome the new year, the students in Mrs. Nowak’s class celebrated Happy “Noon” Year with a countdown, balloon drop, party horns, and treats!

Dazzle ships were a form of camouflage used during World War I to evade the enemy. Andrew Frick put together a model kit of the Works War II ship, U.S.S. Missouri and then created the camouflage pattern.

The USDA has extended the National School Breakfast and Lunch waiver from August 21, 2020 to June 30, 2021. This waiver will allow our district to provide free breakfast and lunch meals again for ALL students (in-person or blended learners) in the district until June 30th. No application is required for participation. All current balances will remain in student food service accounts. Any negative account balances are still the responsibility of parents. Food service cards will still need to be scanned when receiving meals. If blended learners are interested in reserving meals, please call Food Service at 715-257-7511 ext. 136 to make arrangements for meal pick up.

Still feeling in the giving spirit after the holidays? Do you have a digital SLR camera lying around that you don't use but you don't know what to do with it? The Athens Art Department is in need of digital SLR cameras and lenses to use in the Digital Art program. If you have have something you wish to donate, please contact Ms. Adamski. This has the capacity to open many doors for students' future careers!

The FFA chapter would like to send a huge Thank You to everyone who stopped and donated to our Drive-Through Food Drive. We were able to donate quite a bit of food to the Circle of Joy, along with a monetary donation. Thank you again and Happy New Year!
