Maple Grove Charter School celebrated the start of another school year by doing our yearly tradition of gathering around the flag pole, talking about our history, and raising the flag. Staff and students are ready for another year of learning and growth.
Maple Grove Charter School Families:
Join us for an Ice Cream Social at the Historic Fromm Property. We will provide some basic flavors and a variety of toppings, but please bring a container of your family's favorite ice cream to share, if you are able. We are excited to see our Maple Grove families and meet new faces!
PTO meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 3:20.
Normally, we meet in the Maple Grove gym, but this month, we will be meeting in the Boarding House on the historic Fromm property. A special treat in itself, if you have never had the opportunity to visit the property before!
Maple Grove Charter School's third grade students celebrated the third day of school today! Fun was had by doing all sorts of activities related to the number 3 such as playing a math game using 3 dice, learning words with the tri prefix, adding 3 numbers, and listening to 3 chapters of a book. Before we know it, 3 weeks of school will have passed!
A huge shout out to Coleton Bloch Dirt Works for the beautiful landscaping around our chicken coop! It's wonderful to have past Maple Grove students come back and use their expertise to beautify our school! Plants to come in spring. Another big shout out to our MGCS PTO and families for financially supporting this project!

SHE SAID YES!! Remember last spring when the Maple Grove 4th graders proposed the idea of getting rabbits? Well, they did such a thorough job on their research that Mrs. Hanson said, "Yes!" In order to prepare for their arrival, the Cyrtmus family built a fenced in area for our hutches! A huge thank you goes out to them for handling this project for us! Another thank you to the Bloch and Beasley families for agreeing to give us their rabbits, Pearl and Buttercup. They will be arriving the second week of school. A final thank you to Mrs. Neske for agreeing to help our students care for Pearl and Buttercup each day. We so appreciate our school families and their willingness to help our students and staff!
Thank you to Old Time General Store in Gleason, for building our beautiful benches to complete our outdoor classroom at MGCS! Also, thank you to Whitetails Unlimited for the funding to have them built! Learners now have another place to receive learning in our outdoor environment 🍁 🦊

They say it takes a community, and we have an amazing community surrounding Maple Grove Charter School!
At last nights School District of Athens board meeting the Maple Grove Foundation presented a check in the amount of $30,000 to the district to cover the cost of painting the exterior of MGCS by an outside company in August! This project was in the memory of the Edward and Alice Fromm family, emulating their dedication to rural education for deserving students.
