Recently three of our students joined a welding competition through CWMA (Central Wisconsin Manufacturing Alliance). All three students placed in the top ten and Athens as a school took first overall for this event. Logan Ebben won 1st overall, Hunter Haehlke was 5th, and Hunter Felix was 7th. There were 19 schools that participated and approximately 67 students. Athens is full of talent!

Athens FBLA competed at the State Leadership Conference April 8-9. Isabella Zastrow placed 4th in Introduction to Public Speaking and will advance to the FBLA National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida June 29-July 2. Good Luck Isabella!

The School District of Athens will be closed tomorrow Monday, March 24th due to inclement weather. There will be no after school activities or athletic events.
The first night of the Love and Logic workshop was held on March 11th. Parents are learning ways to show empathy to their child while setting boundaries. The second night of this workshop will be on March 25th. The Love and Logic program is provided for parents through our AODA grant.
We have had the registration window only open a couple of days and already have over 15% of the familes register for next year! That is a great start! Let's keep that number growing.
If you are having issues or lack a computer at home, you can go to your building office tomorrow during parent-teacher conferences from 3:30 to 7:30 for some help. No appointment need.

On February 2, the Athens chapter of Future Business Leaders of America hosted the Region II Leadership Conference at Athens High School for over 650 students, advisers, and guests. Jennifer Espinoza -Quiroz, the current Wisconsin Region 2 State Vice President, oversaw the event as part of her state officer position. Athens FBLA was well represented with members competing in business related events to try to earn a trip to the State Leadership Conference in Green Bay in April.
The afternoon was filled with excitement as students and advisers waited to see who would advance to state. In each event, the top three finishers get the chance to move on and compete against students from the other six regions to try to earn a trip to nationals. Athens will advance the following students to Green Bay in April:
• Vanessa Espinoza -Quiroz, Ava Ford, Sy’Rih Hartwig 1st place in Digital Video Production;
• Jennifer Espinoza -Quiroz, 1st place in Impromptu Speaking;
• Isabella Zastrow, 1st place in Introduction to Public Speaking;
• Addison Lavicka, Faith Nowak and Alexa Weiler, competing in the American Enterprise State Competition;
• Bianca Boneske will be attending the Leadership Academy.
