"This is my first year at Athens Elementary School. I was homeschooled growing up and graduated in 2013. I have my Bachelor or Science degree in Psychology and I am currently taking classes part time at UWSP. My husband, Zach, and I have 3 kids. Jael and Hosea are my 4 year old twins and Malachi is our 1 year old. I have lived in Taiwan and in Niger, West Africa. I spent 8 months in Quebec learning french too! I love learning about different cultures, travelling, gardening, reading, singing, cooking, and re-modeling the old farm house we just bought in Athens. I am looking forward to this school year and getting to know the kids at AES!"
The 7th grade Ag class has been learning about FFA this week and all it entails. They recently completed these FFA Emblems.

Lets give a shout out to our not so new to the school district, but new to the MS/HS - Hello Athens HS/MS, I am Mr. Diethelm. I am the new Social Studies Teacher for grades 6-9.
I was previously the 4th grade Elementary teacher at AES for 5 years.
I am also the Head Football and Baseball Coach at AHS. (GO BLUEJAYS)
I am a Graduate of the Athens School District. I have a beautiful family, wife Shelia, sons Devon and Dayne.
I am honored to be teaching at my alma mater and the ability to give back to the District of Athens.

Hi, I'm Mrs. Thunder. I'm from Wausau and now live there with my husband next to his family's farm. I love spending time outside and crafting whenever possible. I'm looking forward to getting to know the community of Athens and gaining experience teaching in a rural setting. I enjoy seeing the strong relationships that are built between students, faculty, and parents! I'm excited to get creative in the classroom no matter the circumstances that arise!
Here is some more artwork from last year's Kindergartners! They studied Robert Indiana's LOVE artworks (a sculpture and a print) and used their knowledge of cool and warm colors to create these masterpieces. They incorporated their own meanings of "love" in their backgrounds!

In my free time, I love being active outdoors, spending time on the lake, playing basketball, reading, and being with my family and friends. I also love to travel and participated in a study abroad trip to Greece and Albania while I was in college. I am super Excited to start the school year and meet everyone!"
