National Honor Society

National Honor Society is an honors group rather than a club.  Members are accepted on the basis of SCHOLARSHIP (grade point average), LEADERSHIP (influential roles in clubs and activities), CHARACTER (high morals, values, and positive attitude), and SERVICE (active in school and community functions).

The chance to be accepted comes only once a year and is opened to any Sophomore, Junior, or Senior students with a grade point average of at least 3.75.  If eligible and interested, you fill out an application which is reviewed by a number of selected faculty members and on the basis of that, are either accepted or not.  This procedure for selection starts with the notification of grade eligible students in mid-March.  Once the selection process is complete, the advisor meets with the group and sets a date for the installation banquet at which the new members are recognized and installed.  This banquet is held toward the end of the school year.
